I found this site because I am about to do a DOHC swap on my 86gt. I have the chance to buy a lincoln, but wasn't sure if the wiring and ecu can be transferred over. What are the drawbacks to using the MarkVIII wiring harness and ECU if any? I've been reading that it's better to get a 96 cobra ecu and harness, but it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Any help or advice on this is appreciated. It's a half off sale at the local yard next week and the inventory says they have a 95, 96 and a 97. 2 were dropped off today.

Other than this project car I have a 90gt race car project, 93 2.3l daily driver, 92 f250xlt 460c.i. and a 2012 v6 that my wife drives.

Hi Bobby, welcome to the site. There are several wiring diagrams posted on the site that will show you how to wire it right in. There are a couple of Mark8 swaps on here that are really nice. Good luck with your 86 and make yourself at home here
