Hey,
I've had my 88 Fox GT since 2010 and now I'm financially ready to get it the way I want it. Once I found out what I really had (it wasn't what I was told it was) I started planning on what I wanted. At first I wanted a terminator swap with a T-56 and cobra irs, but terminator engines are hard to come by are very expensive. So I figured down size to a dohc 4.6 and slap on a turbo around 2 years after. I'm not really sure what year or model dohc 4.6 I should be going after or the difference between them. But I'm sure this site will clear that up for me. At the moment it has a stock drive train in it.

I moved down to Miami from Atlanta, and now I can't really tear down the car in the car port of my duplex. So now I'm looking for a shop to take care of the body work and other stuff for me. The folks that had it before me murdered the wiring, and I mean really badly.

But anyway I look forward to chatting and learning with all of you.

Best answer find a wrecked 96-98 cobra as a donor, it will have wiring, motor, drivetrain, electronics, and pretty much everything you will need. Or buy a Mach I as a donor. the IRS will have to come from 03-04. Som more guys will chime in with their 2 cents.

yes above is the best answer, but still very pricey. what most due since cobra's/mach 1's aren't readily junk yard available is part piece by piece or buy a wrecked 96+ mustang V8 and the 4.6L dohc engine separate.

engine... 93-98 mark viii
manual trans..... any 96+ mustang v8 trans, 6 speed only 03/04 cobras
auto trans........any ford car v8: crown vic, mustang or tbird
engine and dash wiring.... 96-04 mustang v8
irs......99-04 cobra only, 03/04 better quality
front brakes.... 94-98 spindle assembly, and any 94-04 brakes bolt on, 99+ are better double piston.
rear brakes...(if irs isn't affordable) 94-98 5 lug axle swap and get the complete braking system; calipers, brackets, cables, and rotors.

other than that youll need a 4.6l crossmember, and hydraboost and misc parts no one thinks of that add up quickly.
