hydro boost install question...

I have bought the hydro boost setup with all the lines off ebay, and when i ordered it he sent me the wrong one, i clicked on the 96-98 one. But i received the 99-04 model. The reason i wanted the 96-98 hydro boost was because i have the 96-98 pedal assembly. Will this cause a problem or will it work?

i found the info, All you need is 3 power steering lines. One high pressure line goes from the booster to PS pump, another goes from the booster to the steering rack, and a low pressure line runs from the booster to PS pump then PS cooler to rack.

You also need either a pedal assembly from a 4.6 stang, or cut the end where the pedal attaches off the old booster and weld it to the new one.

brake lines, what you do is run two lines to the stock 5.0 proportioning valve from the hydro boost. Then you get a t fitting that can be picked up at any parts store. You will need some double flare fittings. Now its time to start doing some flaring. Make sure you practice before you, do it for real. Good luck

Your pedal assembly is compatible w/ 94-04. It should bolt right up with some modification to the firewall. Other people have also modified the hydroboost connector to work with fox pedals.

As far as the lines go, you may use the factory lines, but there has been some discussion about converting the outlets on the rack, pump, and hydroboost unit to standard AN 6 fittings and braided line. Depending on the rack and brake unit you are using, you will need to determine what diameter they are. Some are metric, others standard. It varies based on manufacture, and year of the components.

Roberts makes fitting adapters that are steel, and I am pretty sure that you can install them with teflon seals / o-rings. I am in the process of putting my brake system togheter, and I plan on doing my lines this way, instead of using the factory ones.

Another thing you may consider is modifying your pedal assembly for steering column support. You don't have to do it, but it is highly recommended. It involves cutting and either welding, bolting, riveting it to the existing assembly.

In the picture above I ended up cutting away metal from the old fox brake pedal assembly, and "fitting" it to the 94-04 assembly. It takes some patience with a cutting tool.

To secure it to the new assembly, I drilled two 1/4" holes, and secured them with rivets. You can weld them or use bolts too.

The gas pedal should just bolt right in. Nothing to change here.
