Swapping 2v into 79 pace car

Hi all, I have a couple of questions on my build.... has been a very long time coming, I just installed the 2v yesterday and the trans went in today.

My question is, what drive shaft does everyone use with the tr3650 into a fox?

Also which clutch cable do I run? I have an 85 svo pedal box installed as that was the last setup I had in the car.

And one more, I have a stifles cross member for the swap, I dont currently have a trans mount installed it's actually sitting on a 2x4 standing on end, and I only have about 1/2 an inch of clearance between the trans and cross member, does this sound about normal?

I can answer the clearance question. Yes, 1/2 to 3/4 inch clearance in some spots of that trans tunnel is normal. Your 79 has a slightly different trans tunnel than most of the builds on here due to engine options offered in the early Fox chassis. You will run into a few unique issues.

I dont have any clearance issues with the trans tunnel, just between the crossmember and the trans.

I haven't experience clearance quite that close on the crossmember, but as long as it is not hitting and you can achieve the appropriate angle agreement between the transmission and differential, I don't think it would be a problem. If it becomes a problem, you can lower the holes for the outer mounts and increase the spacing with the live mount.
