RJM there is only 4 wires to hook up but its more of a standalone setup. I put it into a old foxbody which if different that your setup. IMO if your cars a 99 GT I would just put on the Trick flow heads, cam, and intake. You will make more than putting an old style 4V in your ride.

I agree and disagree. The 4V will provide more HP, pound for pound over the 2V.

There's a reason no one makes an aftermarket 4V head. ;)

True, but why don't they make many parts like the 2V

There are more 2V in Drag Racing than 4V..
1. Weight Difference
2. More parts are made for the 2V than the 4V

Are you talking about modular only?

With the new rules for the modular classes, I agree there is an advantage because of the overall weight break the rule books give the 2V cars..

The reason more parts are made is because 2V 4.6 needs the help!!!
I'll drop the gauntlet and issue a challenge should anyone chose to accept it. See if you can find a stock long block 4.6 2V in the mid 8's. Meaning a valve cover or intake has never been lifted off of the car.

I am actually curious to see if such an engine exists!

The stock C heads flow over 300 cfm with some pocket porting. 340-360 cfm with some CNCing. The 5L flow huge number and manage to keep velocity up as well. Ever notice no aftermarket 4V heads?

2V's are cheaper and there's more of them around. More cars mean more sale. Its all about where they can make the most money.

I have seen plenty of 9 second n/a 2v 4.6, I have not seen any 4.6 4v without superchargers running that...

are you in cali? Come to the track with us..

I wish I was! I would totally take you up on the invite. Maybe ill fly out there this summer!

There are four very active tracks that are within an hour or less driving distances. I'm not saying that 9 second, stock long block 2V's don't exist... I am simply saying I've never seen one. Do you have a link perhaps?

9 sec stock long block 2V's? Only if there using a stock cobra short. The GT rods bend somewhere after 450 WHP and with a perfect setup and a 2400lb dedicated drag car you may see 9's. Is it impossible? No there are some freak engine out there that just seem to live no matter what.

About 8 years ago VT Engines build the first NA 32V 4.6 motor to run in the 9's.

Guys just a heads up. the guy who runs RJM. just does RJM as a side business he is actually a full time firefighter. and I hate bad customer service but on his website he basically states that him calling or returning emails aren't a high priority because his internet sales basically make the company. I've heard a lot of good about his product but his customer service isn't the best.

I appreciate that he is a Fireman. I am an American/Irishman. More than half my family are "on the job", myself included.

With that being said, his level of customer service and more importantly, quality control, is sub-par at best.

He should stick to his day job. Hopefully for his community's sake, he's better at that.

PS- (him using his primary job as an excuse for poor customer service should be the first red flag...)

If I spend $800.00 on a product I expect someone to return a call or an email from a paid customer. To top if off the harness was over a month late being made, had to be modified (injector harness was short on passenger side), and not laid out very neatly imo. I could have easily gone with the other guy (who was cheaper) but decided to stick with him because it was a plug and play harness.

If I knew this was a side business I would have never used him. As I stated in one of my other posts, he did return one call (no emails were returned nor previous calls) and told me the wiring layout. I have a Bluetooth device that works in all my vehicles but wont work in my modfox which i attach to my tablet and the program Torque.

I highly understand I was just letting people kno what the deal was im definently on the same page as you are Speedtospare

We appreciate you sharing the info! Just furthers the notion to stay away.... For now.

Maybe in the future, the quality and service will improve, kinda like Kia and Hyundai

Agreed. I was the 2nd batch they ever made so there could have been issues. They definitely need to fix some things.
