I picked up a Lincoln navigator today 5.4 DOHC.So the plan is to transplant it into my 86 gt t top car. I don't know much about this swap and i am sure there is plenty to know lol. I just need to find a transmission now.
I do know the rods are the weakest link so i plan to replace them and rebuild to motor. What is a good set of forged rods to replace it with? Is there anything else i can do to make more power while i am at it?

Same as a 4.6? i plan to going to try and get the dash out tonight. I think the body is going to have to come off or atleast be lifted to get the motor out i cant see any other way.

Looking for headers not finding much info out there. Anyone know of a bolt on set that will fit in a fox? How about a set where you get the flanges and pipe to build your own?

I have done a 5.4L 4v transplant in one car already, the long tubes probably won't fit unless you plan on modifying them to work. The engine bay is just so small for that engine that you basically have to have everything hug the block to fit. What intake are you going to use? I am in the process of doing a single turbo on a 5.4L 4v in my 85 and have run into header fitment issues with my forward facing headers that will require some custom tweaking/modifying. If you need any pictures as far as how small the engine bay looks with that in there you can look at my build thread.

I plan to run the cobra intake and spacers for now. Do you have a link to yours? What headers did you use on yours before the turbo? I have been told the 99-04 cobra headers fit perfect.

The adapters will still create a hood clearance issue because it raises the intake 1.5" higher on top of how much the 5.4L will raise it. Just a heads up on that, I used FRPP shorty headers for a 96-04 4V and had no fitment issues other than having to spread the x-pipe wider to accommodate the extra width of the 5.4L. I don't have a link to my other build but I do have a link to the turbo build. The build thread is http://www.modularfoxmustangs.com/community/threads/my-5-4l-future-x275-modfox.1211/

The adapters are not that tall. I shouldn't have any hood clearance issues i have a 2" hood as well.
