Thanks for the welcome. I sold my 94 Mustang of 12 years last July and miss it terribly. I had swapped in a 351w and loved the torque that thing made. It was all fuel injected and tuned myself with Tweecer. Gas mileage was ok but could have been better. I have heard many people argue that the mod motors are far too expensive than the pushrods. I use to agree with them. That is until I began pricing parts. I had roughly $800 into my shortblock, $1500 in AFR heads, $600 into intake, $300 into a cam, $200 or so for throttle body and so on. Anymore, you can purchase a Mark VIII and make a few changes to make a decent 300 horse. Not to mention, if I went with a 5.4 navi, or even a used 5.0 DOHC from an f-150. The parts that were used with these engines are far more efficient than what the 5.0 pushrod used. I am not knocking the pushrod because it does serve its purpose. But if I am going to purchase all these parts for a pushrod, I can have comparable parts that are OEM. Only big set back is forging internals. I do believe the pushrod setup is more cost effective. I do feel that in a few years these forged parts will drop in price.
