there is some great info here what i was wondering if there is someone out there that did or can help with my 2005 3v eng swap it is in a 86 fox body that has been gutted and has just the 05 harness i have no stock gauges and was looking to hook up a tach and a check eng light and cant seem to find what wires to connect .at this point the car came with a turbo and a sct tune i removed the turbo we are going to endurance race this car and 7 hour days i didnt want the issues of extra heat from the turbo. when i got the car it had a flooding problem after removeing all those parts and going back to 24 # fuel inj and a cold air intake the car starts for 4 seconds and stalls i am not sure if its a tune issue or a problem some were else i get a p0183 code what is for the fuel presure sensor but i am running a return type fuel system so there is no wires going to the fuel pump for that system to work would that make the car not start any help be great thanks what i need is a guru i can talk on the phone or text with any one want to help thanks bruce

I don't think there's actually a way to have a check engine light without using a stock cluster. Unless you know exactly how it works or could rewire something using the computer in there because there is only one or two wires going to the cluster that gives it information. I usually just check my tuner every once in a while to make sure no new codes have popped up. Tachometer is easy, but will coil packs you will need a tach adapter and should come with instructions, you might need a wiring pinout though.
As for the not running I would first make sure you have a tune that will work on it, obviously not the same one as for the turbo, either stock or a different one. I would check the to make sure it has the proper fuel pressure, and if it does maybe you want to start testing injectors individually. I've accidentally run my car with only half of the wiring plugged in so it really shouldn't be that.
Sorry, but I'm not that much help with the later years, never even worked on an 05-09, but if you need any wiring pinouts or anything else let me know and I can help with that.

I wrote a question in another thread I started here on the forum about my instrument cluster. is the vehicle speed signal bused over to the instrument cluster on the 2001 cobra, because looking at wiring diagrams I do not see a speed signal wire to the cluster itself so i'm guessing it is sent via a can bus. (fyi: have 1992 gauge cluster with 2001 cobra swap, whole car is 2001 cobra electronics with fox interior, going back to fox cluster with retrofitted electronic speedo in place of mechanical, and I have a tach translator)

another question, when wiring tach translator I was going to grab the signal from a coil right off the pcm connector, like T it off from there, I don't want to tap in to wiring under hood which I see people do I want to keep it all under dash including the tach adapter module, is that ok? I would assume so but just wonder if it causes any issues taking the signal that close to pcm. thank you.
