thinking about rewiring my car with a complete harness from 96 cobra, give me some opinions, because the dizzy is busted up like a bad night at the bar. Could i just put the dash harness in my fox dash or use the cobra dash.

Im not to sure on that one but I know I read a thread on one of the forums where someone used the fox dash with a newer harness ill see if I can find it for you. Personally I would swap the dashes over to avoid as much cutting/splicing as possible. Thats what im doing for my capri swap. But im not very good at wiring though either.

From the threads I've read, changing the dash is WAY more of a project to execute a clean install versus just doing the wiring.

89 coupe was a 4 banger car, i can get the ENTIRE HARNESS, dash, a steering column WITH key, for 150 bucks, but the dash is missing the instrument cluster, i thought i read somewhere that the cluster needed to match for PATS, please tell me im wrong lol. I am going to get it in the morning.

Your wrong lol. You don't need the cluster to match because you can eliminate the PATS, that's what I was referring to when we were talking about tuning, definition files, etc...

Kurt is a member here. He is the one doing the wiring on my car. He didn't have to change the dash harness to make my car run. He eliminated my PATS, I'm rocking the stock keys and cluster for my 89. :)

To eliminate the PATS does the car need to be functional or does he just need the ECU. I guess what I'm asking is can he delete the PATS through just the computer by itself. I will have the column and the keys so will I need to even do this?

That would be a good question to ask him! Shoot him a message!

Well i went and got the entire harness out of a 96 mystic cobra today, YES a mystic cobra lol, anyways the harness was missing some modules that i am not familiar with. One is the CCRM which i dont know which one to buy the net says to get the exact part number, well i dont know it because its not there. I already have the fan control down but i want the fuel pump to function proper and not run all the time. The second module has a plug that looks like old 5.0 TFI module, and third is a long narrow wide plug. I will take pics of the plugs so you all can help me out. Also got dash with air bags and steering column with key and keyless entry remote, and heater box. Oh yeah i got all of this crap for 150 bucks!!!!!!!!!

Based on wiring diagrams I've seen, it should not matter on the ccrm. Get the one that matches the harness would be the best. The long skinny connector would be for the newer electronic style cruise control. The one that looks like the TFI connector, I'm not sure off the top of my head, but that is part of the dash harness, correct? You don't need any of the dash harness.

There are two different ways to do the fuel pump.

Use the relay in the ccrm or use the stock fox relay under the drivers seat ('89).

If you choose to use the fox relay, all you do is use the blue/orange (confirm) wire from the EEC V to trigger the fox relay. The fox relay wires are already run over to the passenger kick panel area, so it's definitely the easier option.

I honestly dont know what the last two plugs are for, but the grey plug is in the engine bay not in the dash compartment

It's not directly attached to the "main" harness though is it? Its on one of the extensions, correct?
Comes through firewall on drivers side right passed the big rubber seal boot and into engine bay, comes off the main harness about a foot in length. I guess im just gonna but a manual and trace the wires i will need one anyways, anyone know of the best wiring diagram manuals. Haynes and Chilton but they are kinda sloppy for the sn95 cars, the Haynes manuals are awesome for the fox body cars as far as wiring diagrams. UPDATE!!!!! Found out that the black plug in last picture is the EDIS Module, Electronic Distributorless Ignition System Module. And HOLY SHIT THESE PRICEY!!!!!!!. Read somewhere that 96 up has EDIS built in to the computer, I will be running a 97 cobra LLX4 ECU so i need to know if this is true or do i need to buy one.

Not sure where you got your info, but that is not for an EDIS module. EDIS was never used in a mustang. And never used 96+. The long skinny black connector in your pic is for the cruise control module ( with a high degree of confidence).

I honestly dont know what it is. lol just web searching on the info attempting to figure it out. I think your right Kurt, my buddies car runs a EDIS module but uses a crank trigger setup with it from what i read i think that is what it is, but i still cant find anything on the grey plug, so again im lost.

WOW i am a dumbass just realized what the grey plug is, ITS THE WIPER MOTOR PLUG, lol i feel like a idiot. I have a newer wiper motor in the parts box and i tried to hook it up on my coupe and realized it had one plug versus two plugs. Well im glad i got that figured out LMFAO at my self.

Lol. That's good to know. I was wondering about that one.
I wasnt doubting you, my buddies car had me thinking that the plug was for EDIS he has a 4.6 coupe also and it has EDIS-8 but like i said it runs a moroso crank trigger setup. Thanks for the help
